A photo series documenting a journey. A ferry crossing the North Sea from Hull to Holland. From the hustle and bustle of dockland industry past peaceful farmland pastures to the sea beyond as far as the light would permit, as long as the eye could see. Ensconced in a window seat sipping a local brew I spontaneously decided to document the views of the northern bank of the estuary as they slowly passed by. The lack of sharpness and the fading light enhance the idea of transition, of transition from documenting photos to a “nocturne” of watercolour charm. Transition from day to night, from light to dark, from outside to within.
