1999 – Harvest Festival

Harvest Festival Seasonal vegetables layered between heavy steelplates were intended to visualise the time-related breakdown of natural products in the Earth´s cycle of growth and decay. The fluids caused by the rotting processes would be pressed out by the weight of the ‘system’ stack of steelplates (Ecological-system, Earth layers), and collected on the canvas ‘trough’. The resulting staining and impression of the steel-plates on the canvas would be revealed as the finished artwork. Konzept und Entwurf ©Richard A.
