Ausstellung „Stand der Dinge“ Museum Wilhelm Morgner, Soest NEW DATES 26. Juni – 18. September

Ausstellung „Stand der Dinge“ Museum Wilhelm Morgner, Soest. NEW DATES 26. Juni – 18. September.

Richard A. Cox – The state of things

The exhibition celebrates 50 years of artistic activity in Soest, but is not a retrospective, rather a show of current works. Many works from recent years deal with the landscape and nature around Soest and beyond the „Soester-Börde“, (a fertile plain). They are imaginary pictures that also carry a hint of landscape, inspired by nature along the way. Due to Covid-19, the exhibition had to be postponed. During this time new works were created which, influenced by the pandemic, show an intensive examination of the forms and rhythms of plants and animals, their genetic reproduction and mutation. The results are aesthetically microscopic pictorial designs in enchanting colourfulness. The exhibited works include paintings, acrylic on canvas, oil pastel on card, as well as selected sculptures that match the theme. On the occasion of the exhibition, a book, cataloguing the entire oeuvre of 50 years artistic activity will be presented. The exhibition will also be accompanied by a catalogue.
